The Fine Arts Community is a Theme Community located in
Verder Hall. The FAC is targeted toward students who are interested in fine arts.
Verder Hall is considered the Fine Arts Community because it is well suited for individuals who are enrolled in fashion design, any of the fine arts majors, or the College of Architecture and Environmental Design. Verder Hall offers extra studio space and special staff members, Artists-in-Residence (AIRs), who are available to offer guidance in the studios and in the living environment.
Some of the benefits of the FAC are:
- Supportive peer group
- 24 hour studio space available
- Staff who understand the demands arts majors
- Programming and activities targeted at the arts
- Close proximity to the Art Building
- 24 hour computer lab
Programs for those students participating in the FAC include the graffiti wall, community murals, gallery shows, fashion shows, tutorials, paper making, card making, and jazz bands.
How do I join?
All current, incoming, or transfer students enrolled in classes at Kent State are welcome to choose Verder Hall to live in. Incoming and transfer students should indicate Verder Hall as their number one choice on their housing application or housing renewal contract.
