Install McAfee Antivirus Software
Summary
Antivirus software is necessary to protect your computer from infection by worms, trojans, and other viruses. These viruses can cause serious issues with your system's stability and performance, as well as lead to data loss and even identity theft. To protect its students from such threats, Kent State University has licensed McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for free distribution to all Kent students. Please follow the instructions below to install the McAfee VirusScan software.
If you have already attempted to install the Unverisity provided McAfee VirusScan Enterprise software, but the Clean Access Agent still reports that it must be installed, you may have multiple conflicting antivirus programs installed on your computer. Please follow the Unsupported Antivirus removal instructions to remove all currently installed antivirus programs. Once that is complete, return to this page to download and reinstall the McAfee VirusScan software.

Select the following link to download McAfee VirusScan to your computer: Download McAfee VirusScan.
Please enter your FlashLine ID (your Kent email username) in the User Name box, and your password in the Password box. Do not include the "@kent.edu" portion, just your username.
If your password is being rejected, please visit Flashword to change your password. The default (AMMMYYSSSS) password must be changed before you can download McAfee.
If you do not know your FlashLine ID or password, please visit the FlashLine help page or contact the University Helpdesk at 330-672-HELPx1.

After selecting the link, you should be presented with a Security Warning dialog box. Select the Run button (or the Open button) from this dialog box.

You may then be presented with another Security Warning window. Select the Run button to launch the installer.

Select the Next > button to begin installation.

You will be presented with the VirusScan license agreement. Review the agreement, and then select the check box to indicate that you accept the license. Select the Install button to continue.

Wait for the installation to finish. When it has completed installing, you will be asked to reboot your computer. Make sure that the Reboot now option is selected, and then select the Finish button. When your computer has finished rebooting, you will be protected from virus infections.
