Manually Update Antivirus Definitions
Summary
New worms, trojans, and other viruses are discovered every day. These viruses can cause serious issues with your system's stability and performance, as well as lead to data loss and even identity theft. To protect your computer from these new threats, it is necessary to have the latest antivirus definitions. Please follow the instructions below to update the McAfee VirusScan definitions on your computer.
Instructions

Select the following link to download McAfee SuperDat virus definitions to your computer: Download McAfee SuperDat.
Note that this software is only available for download to students currently residing within the Kent State residence halls. Please wait until you arrive on campus to install this software.

After selecting the link, you should be presented with a Security Warning dialog box. Select the Save button from this dialog box.

If you get an error windows that reads Windows has found a problem with this file, you accidentally selected the Run button. You must select the Save button and run the file from your desktop.

From the Save As dialog, select the Desktop button to view your desktop, then select Save.

Locate the sdat.exe file you just saved to your dekstop and double-click its icon.

You may then be presented with a Security Warning window. Select the Run button to launch the installer.

Select the Next > button to begin installation.

Wait for the installation to finish. When it has completed installing, select the Finish button in the dialog box.

Your computer now has the latest virus definitions, which will protect you from recently discovered virus threats. Return to the Clean Access Agent window, and select the Next button to continue to the next requirement.
