At Kent State student success is our number one priority. The College of Business Administration’s living learning community, the College of Business Colleagues (CBC) offers incoming business freshmen experiences that are tailored to meet their academic, social and professional interests. CBC students live in the same residence hall, take the same classes, and are connected to the business world. The CBC program strives to encourage professional development and career exploration by offering special programs, seminars, lectures, and company tours that provide opportunities for interaction with faculty, professional staff, alumni and business partners. CBC offers numerous benefits such as:
  • Career counseling by business faculty mentors and business professionals.
  • Academic advising and mid-term grade counseling from the CBC program coordinator.
  • Reserved seating in high demand classes during the most convenient times.
Programs & Events

Programs and activities expose CBC participants to a wide range of different business functions, which are designed to help them establish their career direction. CBC will begin to answer and explore the following questions (among many others): What will I do daily on the job after completing my business degree? What are some of the pay and benefit packages being offered at various companies? What are the different business practices and philosophies of these companies? How do I get my foot in the door? What will give me a competitive advantage?

CBC encourages participation in professional/student business organizations and offers participants the opportunity to network with area professionals, tour select corporations, and rub elbows with senior level management professionals. Exposure to corporate vision planning, human resource interview processes, organizational philosophies, and day-to-day job operations will be invaluable tools for participants as they plan their career futures.
