Verder Hall is considered the Professional Fine Arts Community because it is designated for individuals who are enrolled in any of the fine and professional arts majors or the School of Visual Communication Design. Verder Hall offers extra studio space and special staff members, Artists-in-Residence (AIRs), who are available to offer guidance in the studios and in the living environment.

Programs for those students participating in PFAC include the graffiti wall, community murals, gallery shows, fashion shows, tutorials, paper making, card making, and jazz bands.
All current, incoming, or transfer students enrolled in classes at Kent State are welcome to choose Verder Hall to live in. Incoming and transfer students should indicate Verder Hall as their number one choice on their housing application or housing renewal contract.
