Downloading Music and Files
Although some people may not realize it, downloading copyrighted music and movies though file sharing programs, such as LimeWire, Ares, Kazaa, etc., is illegal. All University students are responsible for familiarizing themselves with the University's official policy on the matter, as posted in the Illegal Download Notice page. There are, however many legal and inexpensive methods of obtaining music and videos on the Internet. Ruckus is a free legal music download service available to all Kent State students.

The ResNet helpdesk charges a $40 fee for the removal of spyware or viruses. This fee only applies to computers that do not have updated antivirus and antispyware software currently installed. To avoid this fee, be sure to follow the instructions on our Virus and Spyware information pages.
