Academic Success Center:
The Academic Success Center is the place to go on campus for Academic Support: Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, and assistance with putting together a study group.

Supplemental Instruction:
The basic difference between SI and other tutoring services is that SI leaders attend classes along with the students they are tutoring. SI is completely voluntary and available on a drop-in basis. SI sessions provide students with course-specific learning and study strategies, note taking and test taking skills, and the opportunity to study with their peers in a group format. For more information about SI, visit the SI website at http://www.kent.edu/si/

Drop-In tutoring:
The Academic Success Center also offers drop-in math and writing tutoring at the Michael Schwartz Center, in the library, and in the residence halls. Check out the tutoring schedule at http://explore.kent.edu/asc/math/index.html or STARTSMART: Tutoring

Additional Support:
You may qualify for additional assistance from the Academic Success Center! Services include small group tutoring, one-on-one peer mentoring, and study groups. To see if you are eligible to receive these services, contact the Academic Success Center at 23190, stop by their office in 207 Michael Schwartz, or visit their website at http://explore.kent.edu/asc/

Writing Commons:
The Writing Commons is the place to go on campus for writing assistance! The Writing Commons offers skill development assistance for every step of the paper writing process from beginning brainstorming and idea development, to style and editing advice, to revision strategies. http://writingcommons.kent.edu/

The Library and the First Year Experience:
The goal of the Library's First Year Experience Program is to orient students to the KSU Libraries, resources and services. Library staff who provide this program hope to promote positive student attitudes towards the KSU Libraries, make students aware of the support and research services available to them, and make positive contributions to the success and growth of first year students at Kent State University. Learn more at http://www.library.kent.edu/page/11013

Student Success Programs and First-Year Experience Office:
The Student Success Programs office coordinates the Student Success Series and Save My Semester workshops.  Student Success Programs is also the home of Freshman Advisory Council. For more information about the services and events provided by the Student Success and First-Year Experience office visit the following websites: http://www.kent.edu/success/

Talking to your Professors:
Having trouble in class? Try talking to your professor! He/She is certainly able to help you, seeing as he/she is an expert on the subject! Find out when your professor’s office hours are so you can stop by for a visit! Don’t be afraid to ask for help!
