First Year Experience - Faculty Associates (FYE-FA)

First Year Experience-Faculty Associates (FYE-FA) is designed for traditional, first-year students at Kent State who are interested in living with other first-year students as well. FYE-FA members are housed in multiple buildings. These buildings include:

Eastway Complex:
  • Allyn Hall
  • Clark Hall
  • Manchester Hall
  • Fletcher Hall

Students who participate in FYE-FA will receive many benefits, such as:

  • Obtain personalized support from faculty, advisors and other staff holding office hours in the First Year Experience Outreach Center located in the Eastway Complex
  • Attend programs that are designed to meet first-year student needs through encourage campus involvement, basic study skills, leadership development, community service, and social interaction
  • Enjoy the benefits of a 35:1 student to staff ratio
  • Live with other first-year students facing the same questions & uncertainties
  • Supportive environment that allows students to ask questions and obtain added support during their transition to university life

Requirements for admission:

To participate in First Year Experience - Faculty Associates program students must be an incoming, first-year student at Kent State University.

How do I join?

To join the FYE-FA, simply request to be placed in an FYE-FA building in the Living-Learning section (Section 7) on your residence hall application and choose one of the FYE-FA buildings to reside in as your number one choice. The Department of Residence Services will try its best to accommodate all room requests, however, we cannot guarantee your request will be filled.
