Eastway Outreach Center (EWOC):

The main hallway shared between Manchester Hall and Fletcher Hall will be open from 8am-10pm Monday-Friday. Similar to the Eastway Center dining hall, bowling alley, and convenience store, this area will be open to all Kent State University students regardless of where they live on- or off-campus. The Eastway Outreach Center in Manchester and Fletcher Hall is intended to be the convenient location for first-year students to find academic support services. In this collection of rooms there will be tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, Student Success Workshops, and other forms of academic support provided daily. When these spaces have not been reserved to be used for a specifically stated purpose residents should feel welcome to study, hang-out or otherwise use these spaces. The goal is to blur the lines between academic and social spaces. These spaces are not classrooms nor are they strictly social lounges, rather they have multiple uses.

How these rooms can be reserved:
Hall Staff are encouraged to use these rooms along with their residents. If a resident or Resident Assistant wishes to hold an activity or similar event in one of these spaces, the room can be easily reserved through the Twin (Beall and McDowell Hall) Area Desk: (330) 672-3915)

Fletcher 108 (formerly known as the “Secret Lounge”):
This room will be used daily for Supplemental Instruction and for a variety of Student Success Series workshops that first-year students will be required to take as part of their first year course (orientation class).

Manchester 108:
This room will be used in the evening for math tutoring throughout the year. Math tutoring will be offered in this area from 7pm-10pm Monday-Thursday. Math tutoring is also offered in other residence hall locations on-campus.

Manchester 113A:
This room will be used primarily in the evening for Psychology and Sociology small group tutoring. Additional course tutoring may be offered here as well. This will be the main location for LER Study Group formation. This room will be locked when it is not staffed by someone from the Academic Success Center.

Manchester 113B:
This room will be used as the Science Learning Community (SLC) office. The SLC Graduate Assistant will hold regular office hours and provide community support activities for students who reside in the SLC located in Manchester.

Manchester 121:
This room has been converted into a computer lab for convenience to the residents of Eastway.
